Granting Criteria
1.Grants are to help take practicing artists to the next level in their professionalism.
2. You must be a practicing artist demonstrating a vital engagement with the DTES community. Preference will be given to those living & creating their art in the DTES, however each application will be considered for its unique circumstances.
3. This is the first of a 2-step application process. If you are chosen in this round by the Community Advisory Committee, you will be contacted for some more information including proof of work & project budget.
4. Grants are for artists who can demonstrate a history of their original art practice. Grants are open to individuals & groups, with a cap of up to $1000. Grants may range from $500 - $1000.
5. Grants are not intended for subsistence purposes, and artists may not pay themselves a salary.
6. All successful applicants are expected to present their work publicly by Nov. 30/09.
7. Artwork must adhere to acceptable community standards. We will not help promote material that could harm an individual or group.
8. If you would like your proposal material returned, they must be picked up by July 22/09.
9. All presentation materials must be picked up before Dec 20/09.
